Workshop 1 - Taking a Line for a walk and Playing with Scissors

Week one Semester one began with Taking a line for a walk a task in which we were tasked with walking for 20 steps, stopping, looking around and painting something we saw. My approach to this was distance rather than content, by quickly sketching what i seen without an attention to detail i was able to move quickly through buildings being able to paint things like pianos or wonky chairs.

The second task was Playing with Scissors a work in which we were grouped up and had to cut paper and stick it to a window, my approach to the group task was to encourage everybody to do what they wanted to do, to just cut things out and figure it out as we go along, this seemed to work quite well as following on from the taking a line for a walk we began looking for things that we wouldnt normally see, my contribution to the task was placing greaseproof paper on both the inside and the outside of the window, this way it created an effect and used the window to transform how the paper could be viewed.
